The Hormones Hub was established in 2022 after a one-day symposium exploring the question ‘What is a Hormone?’ and a 3-day Brocher Foundation symposium on ‘Regulating the Hormonal Self’.

Supported by grants from the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society (CBSS) and the Edinburgh Centre for Medical Anthropology (EdCMA) these events brought together scholars from a range of disciplines to explore the social, ethical and political lives of hormones.

These collective projects led to a range of outputs (see Works and Events) including Hormonal Theory: A Rebellious Glossary.
